My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: TN (TN Code 55-8-136) I was cited for failure to exercise due care one morning on my way to work. The weather changed very quickly and it went from raining to a downpour, I slowed my vehicle down but began to hydroplane while driving in the left hand lane on an interstate highway. The vehicle spun around in the lane and went off the road. It turned over on its side, no other vehicles were involved, no one's property was damaged except my vehicle. I was the only person in the vehicle and was not hurt. The TN Highway Patrol cited me using the above TN Code for failure to exercise due care. I avoided colliding with anyone or anything, my vehicle went into the shoulder of the highway and turned over on its side. Is there a way to defend myself in court on this citation?
