My question involves business law in the state of: Alabama
Sorry, my question didn't post....
I have a close friend who has been a private practice psychologist for more than 40 years. She has been subject to theft of funds by an office manager in the area of $150,000. I can provide details. She faces the potential loss of her practice and her home. She has no funds left to hire an attorney and the prosecutor seems to be letting much of the issue slide due to the doctor's lack of knowledge. She's been told they will peruse 1 charge of theft of property and nothing more. The office manager used business credit cards, opened new accounts (ID theft), and paid herself additional salary (without proper withholdings), all out of the office account. Is there any where the doctor can turn for help? She has literally helped thousands of people as well as crisis management for several state agencies in Alabama and the gulf area.
