Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: A Letter for Questionable Returns

A store sent me a letter for excessive and questionable returns. They provided a phone number and wanted to ask me questions before moving forward with their evidence. I contacted my criminal lawyer and he said to contact civil lawyer, which I did. He wrote a letter to the store and they answered that I returned a lot of purchases and for some reason I owe them some big amount of money because I did some price adjustments and instead of adjusted refund they gave me a full refund. I don't know why they gave me full refunds and i never noticed it because i buy and i return a lot. Shipping slips (receipts) they provide don't show any information of how much i paid (I can't see it but they can see it in their computers) or even credit card i used, i always go to the store with a receipt and they always check my account by their computer, so they should see how much money they should refund. Also i returned some items online, the same story. Shouldn't it be in their system, i never asked them for more money, but now i am really scared and i don't know what to do next. Should i pay them, go to a criminal lawyer or stay with civil lawyer.
