Probate Court Procedure: to Push Along an Executor

My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: Virginia

It has been 18 months since my mother passed away (December of 2016). She left three houses (all paid for) some cash, about 60 acres of undeveloped land, and 50% ownership in a business worth about $500k.

Two daughters registered themselves as executors of the estate.

Their are six heirs.

To date, the only information forthcoming is when we make contact and ask for any update. Updates are really weak. Such as, yeah, we need to set up a meeting to go over next steps, or waiting on accountant to complete taxes, or we've received offers to sell business but have made no counter offers.

Seems each time we ask (a few months apart) the answers stay the same. Two houses are rented out. One house is sitting empty.

I probably know the answers but am looking for advice on how best to push along the activities. I do not believe an inventory has been submitted yet. I would like to avoid any hard feelings.

Any advice?
