Hi: I'm a little confused on this. I know there's a Christian band that redoes the music parts for all original songs but rewrites the lyrics and they are able to get away with by law.
But what I'm trying to figure out for a project I'm working on is this: Is it lawful for unsigned artists to copy instrumental parts but not the words? And if not, can someone please differentiate between that and what the Christian band, "The ApologetiX" are able to do with their parodies.
