My question involves criminal law for the state of: MI
I was recently called back to MI on a probation violation for a very capricious issue that involved using someone’s name on a Facebook post I made, that I wasn’t supposed to. Apparently I violated an amended probation term that was never sent to me via mail on an interstate compact. The police officer involved in this situation has had a personal vendetta against me for a very long time, and from what I understand has made multiple attempts to violate me before for equally capricious reasons.
Anyways, once I flew in from OR, and entered the court room some really weird stuff happened. My case was first on the docket but the P.O. officer wasn’t there yet so the detective and family from NYC who flew in to see me get crucified were made to enter, then leave the court room. Then my lawyer left the court room for another case, but the PO officer had arrived, so once again they were made to enter then leave the court room again. Then my lawyer finally arrived and the prosecutor and P.O. and my lawyer were all called to the bench to discuss my case ‘off record’, so no one could hear what they were saying. The judge asked me a couple of basic questions, to which I answered honestly. Then she read he term which I allegedly violated but never received in the mail to acknowledge and sign. Then she flat out dismissed the case without allowing the alleged ‘victim’ and the detective any sort of testimony, which was the whole reason they came to the court. I got cut off my the detective on the way out of the court room doors.
I’m trying to figure out what the heck actually happened here. Would this be considered humiliating to that detective? Were they secretly trying to convey some sort of message? People flew in from all over the country for this 5 minute hearing. I feel like there is a lot more going on here that I don’t understand.
