My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Michigan
Early in April we purchased a generator from an online retailer. We got it on an installment plan. We didn't like the generator and arranged to have it returned. We were provided labels for the item and we dropped off at the local shipping store. Now in late June we get calls from the generator store saying they never got it back.
We have tried to be helpful giving them the location of the store and the information. But there asking for a paper trail which we no longer have. After we sent it back we figured its been two months so what little paperwork there was we threw out. Even the store where we dropped it off has no idea. For some reason they cant track it either.
So the question is what liability do we possibly have for this item? I think the cost was 1600.00$. We don't have it they don't have it. And why would you wait all the time for an expsensive item like that before contacting the customer? Makes no sense. I think there in the state of TN.
