Hi.
I just saw a news item on a (I think) late 20's DACA recipient, who was brought here illegally by her parents when she was six. They came from Lithuania to escape the poor economic climate. She was being interviewed, and got very emotional when she started talking about how she constantly lives in fear of being discovered by ICE and then deported. This is not the first person I have seen on TV who is here as an undocumented immigrant, living in fear of deportation, although i can't say for sure how many are DACA recipients.
Are DACA recipients barred from applying for citizenship? The reason I think they are, is because I see them many times crying about the potential of being deported. And I am thinking there has to be a good reason as to why they do not apply for citizenship. Not being allowed would be one.
Thoughts?
