My question involves restraining orders in the State of: Tennessee
I have had an order of protection on me for a couple years now, I don’t necessarily understand why it’s still in effect considering I did not live in the state it was served at the time. I had to drive over 4 hours from home just to meet a cop to pickup my protection papers but I have a hard time understanding why it’s placed on me still. I have recently moved back to the state it was placed on me in but over 6 hours away from the girl that put it on me, I’m not sure if I just don’t understand how it works or what, but I have obeyed the tpo and i just got wind that it’s about to be renewed again how do I stop this. I just had a kid and because of this I cannot legally own firearms but I feel like I need one to protect my family please help. I never had a hearing or anything on my behalf and I don’t know if there’s anything I can do.
