My question involves a child custody case from the State of: NY
I'm trying to find out my options for leaving an abusive relationship and relocating out of state. My husband currently has an order of protection (a "B" order meaning he can live in the house and has to refrain from abusive behavior) in place until October. I was told that if I file first for temp custody I will be granted it. But I'm wondering if I'm able to move the kids out of state (partly because I'm concerned for our safety if I was to leave at all) with temp custody granted to me? Any other options or suggestions with how I could leave and move with my kids safely?
