My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: PA. I was stopped by a local township PO for speeding back on 5/3/18. I go to my hearing as I plead not guilty. I arrived 15 minutes early before my hearing. 30 minutes go by and the PO comes out and says my hearing has been continued. I stated that I was here before the time of my hearing. The PO stated that the DJ had to leave really quick and then the PO just walked away. Not going to believe the PO, I waited until one of the office employees told me that my hearing was continued. The office employee asks may I help you? I stated that I was waiting and the PO came out and said the DJ had to leave in a hurry. The employee stated that the DJ fell ill and had to leave. The PO then comes out and hands me a form saying the date that my hearing will be on and then she left. After leaving and reading it later in the day, it say the continuance was requested by me and the reason was stated prosecution unavailable - police. Can I use this for grounds of a dismissal because I didn't request for a continuance. If the prosecution - police is unavailable, who in their right mind would request a continuance? Thank You.
Continuance of a Hearing
