My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Texas
I’m in Arizona and have been paying child support since 2011. My ex years ago moved to Texas and after a long court battle was able to take the children. I have 2 kids with her.
She now wants to refile for child support under Texas courts and she’s telling me I will have to pay her $1,000s more. I will be seeing a lawyer but wanted to get an idea of what will happen before my appointment on Thursday with him.
Roughly I make $200,000 a year, she makes about $80,000. I have kids school breaks and half of the summer. She is saying I’ll be paying about 4,000 a month and I should just agree to $3,000 to avoid court. I’ve been paying about $2,100. I pay all travel as well.
Any idea of how this will play out?
