My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
I received a traffic ticket at the end of the January. The officer pulled me over for texting at a stoplight and then I also got dinged for not having a current insurance card. He let me know the insurance part was a correctable violation and that I'd receive a courtesy notice in the mail a few weeks from that day. Fast forward to today and I still haven't been able to find my citation on the court's website. I signed a box that said "Without admitting guilt, I promise to appear at the time and place indicated below" that has a date of 4/1/18.
I'm getting a little worried on what to do since this is my first ticket and I want to pay it if I can. I called the number listed on my citation and the man who helped me let me know he couldn't find it on his end either, so my best bet was to just keep checking the website for the next 30 days. I asked if I had to go into court on or before April 1st and he said no, but I'm not sure if I should listen to that or just go in anyways.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. As I said, this is my first ticket after having my license for ten years, so I'm a little clueless. Thanks!
