Initiation of Charges Should I Contact an Employees Parents, when the Employee is a Minor and Was Fired

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri

We found out through video and confession of the late employee that he had been stealing tips from his team mates. He was terminated, and after doing further investigation we find out that he has been stealing thousands of dollars over the past four months. I am interviewing my team now to try and get statements, after I do this, and before I go to the police should I contact the kids parents? He is 16 or 17. Also if there are people that knew about the theft and never came forward is there a way to include them into the suit as being complicit in the act?
