Speeding Tickets: Lac Traffic Ticket

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California

Hi there

I just got a ticket this morning. CA Highway Patrol gave me a 80+ ticket on a 70 speed limit.

The cop said that I was going 90, which I wasn't but didn't offer up more information. I haven't been ticketed before.

He sent me to LA Superior court. Should i take the chance of him not showing up or plead guilty and get a discount on the ticket? Will I get to go to traffic school?
