Disorderly Conduct: Disorderly Conduct Charges from an Incident in a National Park

I’m feeling really dumb after the fact , but me and the wife just got done having dinner in downtown Gatlinburg. We decided to just take a drive through the Smoky mountain national park before going home.

Their was a Semi truck (tractor trailer) about 1/2 way coming down the mountain, since I drive truck for a living I know this mountain pass is restricted to big trucks . I looked at the wife and agreed to turn around and see if I could help him.

Mistake #1 is even thinking it’s a good idea to help him when he clearly ignored the signs and blindly followed his GPS.

2nd mistake was getting him to stop (late night no traffic) and help get the driver going the right direction since he was already in a bad situation

The driver took it as I was intagonizing him, yes some words were exchanged but the driver took that to getting violent level.

We were eventually both stopped at separate points back in Gatlinburg. Obviously the stories didn’t match up and I was given a summons for Disordly Conduct - I think the rest I can make out in the handwriting “threatening behavior?”

I just bought my first house in Gatlinburg and moved my life from Milwaukee Wisconsin. Hinsight 20/20 I should of just minded my own business and enjoyed our evening. Let the driver deal with his own problems but I tried to play hero and now I’m paying for it.
