Execution of Deed: Is a Survey Required for Land Transfer in Ms

How can I determine whether a survey is required to transfer land in Mississippi?

From searching on the forum here and reading thread titles, I assume that a survey will be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. :-) But is it required? Can the deed have a legal description based on quarter-quarter sections of a plat map?
