My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of Illinois.
Four years ago i purchased a home with my ex's mother. Both of our names are on the mortgage in which I have been paying on by myself for the last four years. In addition to the mortgage payments, I have put at the very least about $10,000 in renovations into this place. I found out a month ago my name was never added to the deed.
I filed for an Order of Protection against her son, and she sent me a text the day he got served saying that because of that, she longer wants me in the house and that I have 30 days to leave.
All the bills are in my name in addition yo the mortgage in which I by myself have been paying for 4 years. My mother lives with me too, and my ex's mother filed the eviction against my mother. Not me. Even though nothing is in her name and I am the one who lives here/owns the house/has been paying for renovations.
Does she have the right to evict me? There is no lease agreement, no rental agreement, in fact she has explained to me time and time again that this home is mine and not hers or her son's and that he can't try to bully me to leave. That was until they were served with order of protection papers.
