Who is Considered a "Public Figure"

My question involves defamation in the state of: CA

Aside from movie stars, politicians and locally elected officials (such as the Town Mayor), who else could be considered a "public figure" in CA ?

Would someone who is a director of a local non profit be considered a "public figure" ? Would the local (and very popular) high school math program coordinator for a large district be a "public figure" ? What about someone who runs a fairly popular YouTube channel that advocates for the right of immigrants ?
