My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: New Jersey
Would I be able to break a lease if there is cigarette and marijuana smoke seeping into my apartment, particularly my bedroom and closet, and I am 2 months pregnant?
I have brought this matter up to the leasing office and they told me that it is not a smoke free complex and I am the first person to complain about such a thing. I am very concerned because it is mostly in my bedroom and my closet, and some days my clothes stink of marijuana and I cannot even go into my bedroom. It has come to the point where I cannot sleep in my own bedroom. I fear for the safety of my unborn child and I am ingesting these second hand fumes into my body.
I have called the police and made a report and can get a letter from my doctor stating her concerns.
