My question involves personal property located in the State of: California
Can I stare only the person who left items at my home can retrieve them when I send out the notice of abandonment and retrieval?
I don't know their friends or family, the didn't rent so there was no written agreement listing an alternate contact. I have listed their items as 4 bags of misc clothibg, 2 suitcases zip ties shut, computer of unknown age and value, etc. And I'll give 18 days by law. My concern is that I don't have a forwarding address and they may have left the state. I don't want them to say they're sending a random person and then accuse me of not giving them all of their stuff or a stranger coming to my house trying to take my stuff as theirs.
Also, if it makes any difference they never paid rent, there was no written agreement of tenancy and the only thing she paid was sometimes helping with groceries the time she was in my home.
