Thanks again for answering these questions, I really appreciate this forum.
I played at one of the Daily Fantasy sites for a while and ended up just losing money. I went to withdraw my remaining funds (less than I deposited originally, so I lost) because football is over and I don't want to play anymore, but I come to find that the site in question has blocked my withdrawl of funds. The site says that I must provide them with my Social Security Number via a W9 form - even though I have won no money - they need it on file for future reference if I do win someday.
I understand that their new policy is that all users have to have a W9 on file. That is fine, but once told of this I determined that I did not want to share my SSN with this site and requested that my account be closed and my funds returned to me. I understand that if I am a user of their site, I have to follow their terms - but I also believe I have the right to end that agreement at any time I no longer wish to be a user and at that point the company is holding my funds. They are outright refusing to do anything to resolve this matter - including close my account as I have requested - until I fill out the W9 form.
I have requested from support several times that I wish to withdraw my funds and close my account, but they insist I must follow policy even though I no longer wish to be a customer due to the policy that they insist I follow. :wallbang: I know it's my own fault for ever signing up for this potentially shady site in the first place. I should add that it is DraftKings and not some tiny operation.
What recourse do I have here? I feel like my funds are being held hostage until I share private confidential information that I did not agree to share.
