Okay so me and a couple friends went out camping out in Everglades national park. One of my friends had brought a very small amount of marijuana with them and I didn't know until we were there. Park officers showed up because of a noise complaint from some other people and had asked if there was any drugs in the car since there was alcohol in there and they were going to search it. I had mentioned the small amount and since it was my car, I took the blame. No hand cuffs or anything to that extent had happened but he wrote up a 325 dollar violation for possession of an uncontrolled substance. The officer had told me that since they are a private district, that this will not show up on my record and that it is better not to fight it because if I lose the case then it will show up. I know that if you pay for it you are admitting guilty and that could lead to further conviction. Is this true that the national parks are a private district and it will not show on my record even if I pay the violation? This was in Everglades national park in Florida
