My question involves malpractice in the state of: California.
My son had a circumcision shortly after birth. The doctors told us that we needed to apply Vaseline to his penis frequently (they did not say how often and more importantly, they did not say why). We kept his penis oiled with Vaseline and probably did it once daily. Later on, his circumcision did not heal right and they told us it is because we did not apply the Vaseline as often as we should have. If we had known this would have happened and how often "frequently" was, we would have done it every 5 seconds, if need be. Now my son's penis is all mangled and I have to pay for a surgery to get it revised, which in and of itself, could have further complications. I called three different med malpractice attorneys in California and they all said they would not take the case and that I did not stand a chance.
I would like for the hospital that did this surgery to pay for my son's upcoming corrective surgery. One attorney mentioned that I could go to online forums (here I am!) and ask malpractice victims how they have dealt with requesting hospitals and/or physicians to pay, without getting a lawyer. Is this possible? If so, how should I go about it? Thanks in advance for any help and support!
