My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Florida
After a series of unfortunate events my car was repossessed by a local company, then the car was moved to a auction site (Mannheim) where my lender ensured me that it was just in holding until I made the second portion of my agreement to reinstate my car. It took about two week before I got my car back. Upon picking up my car I found that the Key was left in the ignition draining my battery, the front bumper had partial damage and there is now a graze on my deck lid that i can catch it i run my finger nail along it. On top of that the door was left slightly open and rain got into the car. Then a lot of my person items were missing like my name brand polos, but not something like my volunteer shirt from St. Jude. From my understandings they should have inventoried the items in the car and returned them to me. When I asked from my personal items the only thing returned was my car keys from brother's car. I am concerned because things like my check book are missing. I have linked a album to the condition my car when returned. The exterior of the car was dirty upon repossession but the interior was spotless. Are they allowed to treat personal assets like this? Who is responsible for the car when it is taken from my possession? I am just upset that they took something that was well kept and in less than two weeks destroyed it. I understand that i fell behind on my loan, but I don't feel that gives them the right to damage the asset.
