My question involves independent contractors in the state of: WA
I have worked on and off over the past 16 years as an employee for a medical sales company. After being laid off a year, I was asked to return as an Independent Contractor. I was to be paid a monthly draw and he also agreed to pay my expenses. Since I am developing new products, I have not earned enough commissions to pay back what I owe. It seems he is going to send me a 1099 with 9 months of draw and is adding ALL my expenses to my 1099. If I leave, I will not be required to pay back the draw, and I am not required to pay back my expenses. What do I claim as income if I have no actual income/profit. This was all communicated to me verbally. I only work for this company and have no other income. I'm really confused how this can be called Independent.
ANY IDEAS? :wallbang:
