Suspension and Revocation: Can Someone Explain This in English

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California.

I have a backround check this week to be reemployed by my old employer. I'm told they check criminal and driving and that this could be an issue so i'd like to get it cleared up.

I actually thought my license was fine, awhile back i got hit by a driver on my way to work but had just moved, i didn't have my insurance card with me at the time and my address was not correct on my license. I was told to go to court, pay fine, be done with it it...

I forgot, found out my license was suspended, went to court, saw judge, got put on a plan but have not been able to pay it. I was told by the clerk i actually had more time than on the paper..

Fast forward to today, im checking all my ins and outs to make sure ill be able to work next week and find this....

so i've obviously missed something. I was unaware my license is once again suspended and with being out of work, im not exactly able to pay the giant fine in order to clear it up so i can go to work this week...This whole court system completely confuses me and i'm so lost i feel like an idiot.. If someone can help me out , i'd greatly appreciate it.
