My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Texas
I bought a car at a Texas dealership in March and the title was applied by the dealer in April. I received my tags rafter much persuasion. But, I have still not received the title. I called the dealer in June and he finally agreed that there was some issue in sending my driver's license copy to DPS and so this caused the delay. I sent them a photocopy and it's been two months, whenever I call them they say that I should be receiving any time now. But, today out of frustration I called DPS. They said that my title was rejected in April because the dealer did not have the car title in his name but in the previous owners name and he tried to change it directly to my name and so it was rejected. I am afraid there might be lien on the vehicle. The sale deed does not mention any lien info nor did the dealer mention anything about it. I paid cash in full. I want to know what I can do now ? Should I contact my lawyer ? Please help.
