I am currently on probation in the great state of Wyoming. I was placed on misdemeanor probation on July 27th of 2014 for the term of one year. Today I am to be released from said probation. I spoke with my probation officer and her supervisor both today regarding my discharge paperwork. I have been informed that it has not came in yet. I was also informed that I am still considered to be on probation until I sign the said paperwork. Question being, do the have the ability to hold me without an extension of my probation because they did not do their job properly? Is it legal for them to hold me past my release date when I have paid all my fines and completed my probation properly? I just want to go home to my wife in Tennessee.
