My question pertains to the state of: Texas
I have two parking passes, one for a personal truck, one for a work truck. While getting repaired at my job HQ, the parking pass was taken off and thrown away. I used a visitor parking pass before going on vacation, because my work truck has been here for almost a year, so I figured it would be fine. I'll wait until after my vacation to sort things out. Came back, truck was towed. 300 dollars later, I ask the apartment office if they could issue me a new parking pass, because mine is stolen. They told me they would not. I told them does that mean I have to use visitor passes for the next 6-12 months. They said I only get 5 a month, and yes. I've asked a few people about this, and they say this might fall into the realm of towing ethics violation, but I am not sure. Personally I'd rather not lawyer up, I'd rather they just issue me another sticker. I'll be talking to the property manager soon enough to see what I could do, but I figured I would post here first to see what I could do if she flat out refuses to issue me another parking pass.
As an fyi, I'm not fighting the 300 dollar fee, but I do feel like something is wrong about the idea that I've been living here for as long as I have and using that truck, and they absolutely refuse to cooperate.
