My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: North Carolina
My neighbor renovated his house with the NC State mandated low-energy windows two years ago. The windows are melting the siding on my house, which was installed over ten years ago. Both of our homes face north so the new windows are melting the siding on the southwest. NC Home Builders Association is aware of this problem as well as the Office of the State Fire Marshall. The glass and window industries and the siding company are blaming each other. But if I had no problems with the siding prior to my neighbor's renovation how can they make such a claim? The bottom line is, what can be done so the windows stop causing solar reflection, who should do it and who should pay to replace my siding?
