My question involves real estate located in the State of: Florida
We put in $17,000.00 on home purchase with daughter and her husband in 2004. We moved out of property in 2006 because daughter and husband would not agree of extension of in-law 400 sq foot unit, We now received notification from their lawyer requesting we pay 50% of of mortgage payments and repairs they had done totaling $215,059.69 or relinquish ownership with a quick deed. Is this legal? We were never received any notification of repairs or payments due on mortgage. What rights to we have. We are in our mid seventies and live off social security and feel we are being bamboozled. Thank you for any help in this matter.
