My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: California
Back in 2014 my son was involved in an accident. He was 19 at the time and driving the truck that I gave him when he was 17 and the vehicle was still registered in my name. At the time of the accident our insurance had lapsed and I had not informed my son. We are now being sued by the other drivers insurance for damages to her vehicle. I am not denying liability but I do not want my son held liable or a judgment to be entered against him. Can I ask for this in court? That a judgment be entered against me that my son had no knowledge, I had NOT told him we did not have insurance. Also, I have since moved to Tennessee and will be providing a sworn affidavit. Any advice is helpful. I have only 14 days to respond to the lawsuit. Any help is greatly appreciated,
