My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California.
I own foothill property that I lease out for livestock. The people renting the acreage have a number of horses and head of cattle.
I recently found a large stack of potting soil that leads me to believe the tenents are raising more than livestock. In the lease agreement it clearly states that all federal, state and local laws are to be observed.
i do not know the laws regarding the cultivation of marijuana, who had a right to grow it for medicinal purposes, etc. As the owner of this acreage, when, if at all, do I have an obligation to notify police about any suspicions that I may have? Am I obligated to ask the tenants specific questions about their use of property?
