My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Several weeks ago I was cited for 55 in a 25 construction zone.
Approaching (normal) limit is 60. 1 full mile from any construction (a staging area on the other side of the road) and a mile and a quarter from any activity on my side of the road started many small paper signs on wooden barricades saying '25 work zone'. No taper down / no Construction Ahead sign / no indication of any construction.
There are concrete barricades blocking all construction activities on both sides.
I went back and they now have a 'Construction Ahead' sign a mile away and the speeds are listed on larger signs and go from 40 to 30 to 25 as you approach the construction area.
I was written up for 55 in a 25 - VC22350. Lidar. I'm not sure where he clocked me but it was nowhere near the construction on my side. The motorcycle cop was behind me at a stop light (we were both stopped) just before the construction on my side - pulled me over after construction area..
I have a feeling this could be very bad. I also have a feeling that the construction zone markings do not meet requirements. Any help appreciated.
