Driver's License Issues: Can You Hold Both a Driver's License and a State ID Card

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Washington.
As Washington does not provide Real ID. Can I get State ID from different state who provides Real ID without surrendering my Washington DL. I'm mostly in Washington may travel to other states.

If Yes, what would be procedure or alternatives for getting real ID??
