My friend and I traveled to Panama City Beach, Fl this past weekend and we were out and about exploring. We visited an eatery on the very busy strip and was leaving the location around 11:00pm when I was pulled over for driving without headlights. My biggest defense(excuses) are that 1. I was turning out of the restaurant as we were being pulled over. I understand I was still moving but I did not even notice my headlights were off given the very busy well lit strip of stores. Also 2. I was in a rental car that doesn’t have the automatic feature I am used to. So I often forget to turn them on. This was my third night having the vehicle and my first driving it at night. I’ve never had any tickets and I think I was a victim of a greedy spring break cop looking to hand out any possible tickets. I hadn’t driven a mile before getting pulled over. Is it worth fighting? Should I pay the $200 fee for an honest mistake? Please help. :)
