I was found not guilty in 2016 for a point and presenting charge in 2013. The record was expunged per the solicitor. But.. since I have a 3rd degree CDV from December 2015 I cannot retrieve my gun. The gun was not used in the CDV. I know that I cannot posess a firearm for 3 years from the date of my conviction. But, what I want to know is how can the police department legally destroy my firearm? Is there anyway I can get them to hold it till my 3 years is up? It's been 1 year and 5 months since that arrest.
