My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Texas
I am not sure if I am writing this in the right category if not could you please send me to the right forum. Here we go..
I am a hunter and I have brought 5 different animals to a taxidermist dates are 12-2012, 2-2013, 11-2013, 12-2013, 11-2014. Deposits have been made on each of these animals of $150.00 each totaling $750.00. Each time I have asked him to give me a time after the first 3 animals it was told to me yours is next. I do know when having something taxidermied it can take up to 6 months. Well in December of 2015 I requested all the animals back-I got 4 of the 5 animals back and 3 out of 5 hides back and was told I would get my monies back in Jan. 2016. Now it is March and still nothing. I even gave him a option if he would pay me back by Feb. I would take a $250.00 loss and take $500.00. Well to no avail nothing has came to truth. Now I am out $750.00, 1 animal gone and missing a hide to which I will have to purchase on through another taxidermist to the tune of $300.00. This is putting me in the hole a total of $1000.00 due to the loss of the $750.00 and having to purchase another hide and there is nothing on the lost animal for me to recoup. What is my next step..I have taken what I have to another taxidermist and he is going to work on the animals but he will need to be paid too and his policy is to pay when done and nothing before. Please advise Thank you
