My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Ohio
I pulled off of a side road onto a main road at around 9 at night. I was aware that the speed limit near that area was 55mph when I pulled onto the road. It switches to 50 about a quarter mile down. AS I was pulling onto the road, I saw a car about 700-800 feet down the road coming my way, going the same direction as me. I accelerated up to a max speed of 56mph then slowing down to 50-51 when I saw the speed limit sign. The officer (which I did not know was the police at the time because it was dark and he had extremely bright headlights so that's all I could see) had caught up to me just before I got to the 50mph sign. He seemed to accelerate pretty fast to get to me. We travelled about just under a quarter mile before he threw on his lights and pulled me over. He approached, didn't even let me speak, told me who he was and that he pulled me over for going 64 in a 50. I started to dispute it with him (politely) because I know for a fact I was not speeding. I have a solid habit of looking at my speedometer about every 3-7 seconds because I don't want to speed. Also, I had my cruise control on when I hit the 50 zone. After he ran my license and insurance, he issued me a ticket for the alleged speeding & gave me a warning for my license plate light being out (which it was out, but now fixed). On the ticket though, he marked he was stationary, not moving, when he clocked me with his radar. He was not stationary at any time other than pulling me over. He also marked there was a crash, which is beyond false. He turned on his lights and I carefully pulled over. No accident at all. But there's no report number or any other markings about the alleged crash. Can I dispute this? How should I proceed with this? I was not speeding nor did I crash...
