Parking Tickets: Appealing Park in Bus Loading Ticket 22500(I) CVC

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California

Recently I was picking my friend up from the greyhound and the location led me to a confusing sketchy area. I saw an entrance to a bussing area and pulled in because I thought thats where my friend would be dropped off. I pulled over for a minute to check my GPS and text my friend to verify if I was in the right location and if she had gotten to the stop, but it turns out her bus had broken down and she was running late. During the minute this was happening my car was still on but in park mode and a police officer parked nearby and gave me a ticket for parking in a bus loading zone. It turns out the area I was at was a bus zone for the city bus and the greyhound zone was across the street. My questions is if this is worth appealing since I was still in the car with the engine one and I could have easily moved my car and that I was ticketed past midnight when the busses are inactive. Thanks!
