Custody and Visitation Issues: Phased-in Visits for Out of State Dad

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: OK

My ex has filed for visitation. He resides in California. I was served papers and was shocked, but glad he was asking to see our 8 year old daughter. I have tried to come up with solutions out of court but he refuses anything but six weeks this summer in California. In 5 years he has seen her 7 days, none of those overnight. I asked if he would come here 3-4 times at my cost to establish a relationship with her, he refuses due to his work schedule, which I understand but I just want her acclimated to him before sending her for such a long distance and time. I am so happy he wants to be a part of her life but feel easing into it is best.

He says I'm being unreasonable. I'm just concerned for her wellbeing.

Am I being unreasonable? What are the chances the judge would see it his way? Please help!
