My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Connecticut
Are warning signs or notices required prior to towing a vehicle from a condominium property? We have a condo in CT that is rented to a couple for the last 7 months. We requested parking stickers but, they never arrived and the tenants did not notify us. Last week one of their car was towed and they had to pay couple hundred dollars to recover it. The property manager was contacted and, at first, her response was that the towing company has to give warning prior to the towing if it is first offence. Then she changed her opinion. There are multiple parking lots in the property and no towing warning signs.Today we walked the grounds and noticed many cars without parking stickers. Was the towing legal? Can the tenant recoup his money from the towing company or the association?
Thanks
