Motions: Failure to Appear Charge for a Traffic Ticket, Fine Has Been Paid

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Florida, Key West.

Not sure if this should have been in this forum or another since its a Failure to appear for a traffic ticket already paid.

I live in Texas, and was visiting Florida at the time.

I don't recall if the ticket was for speeding or not having glasses. At the time (young/dumb), I was told not to worry about it (by friends) if I wasn't planning on going back to Florida, and that the statute of limitations would pass. Wrong of course.

Anyways, I did end up paying the ticket, but apparently there was a failure to appear from 2003, which I never learned until today. Got a letter for a warrant for the 2003 failure to appear.

I don't recall when I paid the initial speeding/corrective glasses ticket, but it definitely was paid.

I'm currently unemployed and trying to get my life back in order and need to get a license here in Texas, and take care of the warrant for the failure to appear.

Is there anyway for me to personally file for a motion to dismiss the case and/or charges from here in Texas. Or can this only be done by a lawyer there in Florida?

Any help would be appreciated.
