My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Florida
Dear Sir,
I am 30 year old international PhD student( about 14 months in US) in US(Florida) and on Learner License(Insured) met an accident at turning, No personal injuries . It was my mistake (I failed to yield to left while the light was green- but not green arrow) and police report says Violate learners drivers license resriction; driving without a licensed driver. According to police report property damage was 6000 dollars. I have got a citation of 153 dollars , it says court appearance is not mandatory. The other person has got a witness.
My vehicle got less damage compare to other Vehicle. I dont have any friends to teach me, i learned Driving back in home but i dont have any international license and I was practicing before attending to road test.
What is going to happen as my insurance covers only the other person ( I guess I will have to pay my own car's damage) as there was no licensed driver beside me . Is that possible that my insurance company can also refuse to pay the other car's damage citing that I was violating my learners permit. If YES what happens as I am too poor to pay even a thousand dollars from my own pocket.
Should I hire a lawyer ? Yet again my poor finantial condition restricts my ability to pay a lawyer.
Will I be able to take driving lesson with a school and take my road test ( The police didn't revoke my license)
really thankful to your answers. learner's permit issued by the State of florida.
Regards
