My question revolve around the issue of my parents' car title. Both are deceased and the car is in poor shape. A competent mechanic to do something with it and make some cash with it so as executor of the estate I want to sell the car and dispose of it properly.
Here is the problem. We cant find the title and there is some issue of there being a lien on the car for some credit card debt.
Ive contacted the lien holder and explained that thier is no money available and as for property, a few items are there but a true consequence. They lost almost everything when the housing bubble burst. Ive also told them the condition of the car and they dont want the it as i was told. I cant get a title at present until they grant me a release of lean which they wont do. Is thier a way for it to be declared an abandoned car to get a title and get some meager amount of value as scrap or sell it to a mechanic? Im at a lost as to know what to do.
