My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida my roommate just told me that me and my bf have 30 days to get out of his house. It's not because of rent it's because his gf woke me up this morning asking me to watch her baby because she had to go to work and she could not get her bf to wake up. She had to take the older daughter that belongs to the bf from a previous relationship to school before going to work because the bf would not get up. The older daughter mother came to see why her daughter was late for school and I told her that the gf could not wake up the older daughter father because she suspected he was under the influence of something so she had to Jimmy a door open because he had locked himself in there and he claims he was not on anything but he came knocking on mine and my bfs door three times looking for his gf when we kept telling him she went to bed. Then after the older daughter mother told him that she is not going to allow her daughter to come there anymore because of suspected drug use after she left he told me that we have thirty days to get out because he doesn't like the fact that I don't mind my own business and when I explained to him I would if he didn't keep putting me in it by having her wake me up because he refused to get out of bed he didn't like the fact I made a smart allic comment about how the place was like a frat house because he had friends over playing music smoking cigarettes and drinking and crashing on the couch when they don't pay to live there. He apologized last night and said he was just in a bad mood but then came back and said he didn't like what I said. My bf said he can't just tell us to leave he has to go through court and he doesn't have a good reason to evict. I feel he is doing it out of retalliation.
