Greetings,
I own an old home and am moving out of state. My Mother is on SSD, she lives in a house, pays her own bills, in the same town.
Houses around here often take years to sell. I was wondering could I give it to my mother and she move into it, or will it go against her SSD? The house is high maintenance, extremely large heating bills due to no insulation, house is about 120 years old. Her Monthly expences will be about the same even though no rent. I believe when she passes away that Social Security will keep the house which we would both be fine with. I had also thought about donating it to an organization for Wounded Warriors or a Veterans Association if it would affect her disability. Can anyone give advise?
