Someone goes to a doctor, and the doctor diagnoses the person with having disability. The person takes the doctor's diagnosis, mails it to ssi, and is approved for disability. (This is the condensed version.) That same doctor recommends the patient go to a specific therapy. The person goes to that recommended therapy for years, and then stops going. Would not going to the therapy anymore, have any effect on the person receiving the ssi payments, the same way they had received the payments for years?
