My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: New York (NYC)

Hello,

I pulled into a gas station to get gas, but then realized that I forgot my credit card and did not have cash on me. I then went out the other side of the gas station. A cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket for avoiding a red light. That was not my intention at all. I didn't even realize there was a red light because I was focused on pulling into the gas station. Should I plead not guilty?

I don't have any other tickets, not even a parking ticket, in almost ten years of driving.

If I plead not guilty, are there any other fines that can be added if I am found guilty?

Will this increase my insurance?
